Dr. Samtani has performed and directed analysis, design and field investigations for a variety of infrastructure facilities and multi-disciplinary urban transportation projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels in different parts of the country. Selected recent projects (with NCS and other firms) are as follows:
- National Instructor for Federal Highway Administration (1997-Current): Teach Departments of Transportation (DOTs) throughout the US . Courses include Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls and Reinforced Soil Slopes , Drilled Shaft Inspector Certification , Subsurface Investigations and Earth Retaining Structures . Taught DOTs of New Hampshire, Illinois , Louisiana , Nevada , Kentucky , Pennsylvania (3 courses), California and Arizona.
- Principal Engineer and Project Manager: On-call Geotechnical Services for -
- AZ Dept of Transportation (2000-2003, 2003-Present): 31 assignments.
- NM State Highway and Transportation Dept. (1999-2003): 6 assignments.
- Pima County Department of Transportation (2000-2003, 2003-Present): 9 assignments.
- Town of Marana (2004-Present): 2 assignments.
- Geotechnical Manager: I25/I40 "BIG I" Traffic Interchange (TI), Albuquerque, NM (1998-2000): 5-level TI, 55 bridges, 70 walls
- Geotechnical Manager: I10/I19 TI, Tucson , AZ (1998-2003): 3-level TI, 10 bridges, 10 walls, world-record load test on drilled shaft, innovative shaft testing
