Projects

Mr. Post has worked on a variety of geotechnical projects, with duties including field investigations, project coordination, data processing and reduction, drafting, computation and analysis, and report writing. Selected recent projects (with NCS and other firms) are as follows:

  • Project Engineer for I-10 Widening, Ruthrauff Rd. to Prince Rd. Tucson , AZ.
    • Complete reconstruction of Prince Rd. interchange to change grade of I-10 to pass under Prince Rd., and to allow Prince Rd. pass over the railroad
    • Coordinated field and laboratory investigation program
    • Participated in analysis, calculations and report writing
  • Project Engineer for US Route 60, County Line - Pinto Valley. Gila County, AZ
    • Passing lane addition in mountainous region requiring rock cuts (designed by others) and side-hill widening of existing 1.5H:1V fill slopes of marginal stability.
    • Coordinated and performed rock coring field investigation and laboratory investigation.
    • Performed slope stability and other analyses, and participated in calculations and report writing.
  • Project Engineer for Pima County Marana-Continental Ranch Library. Marana, AZ.
    • Facility with unique glass architectural elements and kite shaped shade structure located near Santa Cruz River. Weak and potentially collapsible soils to a depth of 20-ft.
    • Recommendations include dynamic compaction for ground improvement, later revised to use a geogrid-reinforced platform to mitigate the potentially collapsible soils.
    • Performed field investigation and participated in design, analysis, and report writing.
  • Geotechnical Staff and Project Engineer for I-10 Widening, St. Mary's Rd. to 29th St., Tucson, AZ.
    • Complete I-10 reconstruction including six (6) new bridge structures, and nearly 14,000 linear ft. of retaining walls
    • Coordinated and conducted field investigation consisting of 122 borings
    • Participated in analysis, calculations and report writing
    • Performed post-design services including review of MSE wall calculations and drilled shaft integrity testing results on behalf of ADOT.
  • Geotechnical Staff for US 93 - Cottonwood Canyon/Bridle Creek Section, Mohave County, AZ. For widening project for a dangerous portion of Canamex Highway performed geologic structure mapping, aerial photo interpretation, logged test pits, coordinated soil boring and rock coring field investigation, and participated in rock and soil slope stability analyses with rock fall simulations
  • Geotechnical Staff for I-19 - Duval Mine Rd. Traffic Interchange, Sahuarita, AZ. Performed fieldwork, and participated in analysis and report writing for design of drilled shaft foundations, embankments, and new pavement.
