Dr. Naresh Samtani has been a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) approved instructor since 1997. He has taught geotechnical courses to Departments of Transportation and Highway Departments all over the country. He has also developed several additional courses that have been taught to various state and local agencies, as well as project specific training courses for inspectors and project stake holders. These courses include:

  • Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls and Reinforced Soil Slopes (FHWA, 3-day course)
  • Drilled Shaft Construction Inspection (FHWA, 2.5-day course)
  • Earth Retaining Structures (FHWA, 3-day course)
  • Subsurface Investigations (FHWA, 3-day course)
  • Construction of Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls (FHWA, 1-day course)
  • Construction Inspection Training: Drilled Shafts and Soil Nail Walls (Town of Oro Valley, 1-day course)
  • Construction Inspection Training: Anchored Micro-pile Walls (Project specific – SR 89A: Banjo Bill Campground Rockfall Containment, Micro-pile Retaining Walls)
  • In Situ Tests and Optimization of Drilled shaft Design
  • Short Course – MSE Walls Internal Stability, Commentary on Design Methods.
